Riding style
The Burton Instigator is the all-mountain board for beginners who want to make rapid progress and try their hand at any terrain.

Shape
The classic directional shape is designed to ride with a slightly longer nose than tail, which concentrates the pop in the tail while still giving you enough float, flow and control to tackle any terrain in all conditions. The 5 mm taper means that the nose is wider than the tail, which favours smooth turn entries and exits, stability at higher speeds and better gliding in deep snow. Pro-Tip is a bevelled thickness at the tip and tail. This reduces the swing weight for easier manoeuvrability.

Profile
Ideal for aspiring riders: Flat Top scores with a flat profile between the feet for stability, better balance and constant edge control. The tip and tail have an early rise outside the feet for the tilt-free, light feel you'd expect from a rocker.

Flex
The Twin flex is completely symmetrical from front to back, ensuring perfectly balanced performance whether you're riding regular or goofy.

Construction
The lighter and pop-loaded FSC™ Certified Super Fly™ 800g core of two different wood species uses vertical layers of alternating softwood and hardwood to reduce overall weight without sacrificing strength or performance. With the Dualzone™ EGD™, the wood grain is positioned along the toe and heel edge on two continuous zones that run perpendicular to the rest of the core for consistent edge grip and durability. The Squeezebox improves pop and performance through a balance of thick, powerful core areas and thin, flexible areas. The rider's energy is transferred from underneath his feet to the outside, activating the tip and tail and making the board swingier, more stable and easier to control. Biax fibreglass provides a jib-friendly, torsionally elastic, soft flex and forgiving feel. Super Sap® is a biologically based resin.
The extruded base combines speed and strength in a base that is very easy to clean. The Channel® gives you ultimate control over your stance in a design that is compatible with all popular bindings (not just Burton).
