    Product description

    The lightest Karakoram binding

The Prime-X Carbon is the pinnacle of Karakoram splitboard bindings. The lightest binding in the Karakoram Range is ridden by some of the world's best backcountry snowboarders like Jeremy Jones and Nick Russell. The sophisticated technology, combined with the light weight and comfort ensures that this binding is regularly seen on the most massive peaks around the globe.

    Highback
The ultra-light carbon highback consists of several layers of biaxial carbon fibres. The highback comes with stiff flex (10/10) and is Flex-Lock compatible. With the Ride-Stride Forward Lean, you can lean the highback back up to 8 degrees for more comfort and a longer stride length when climbing. In Ride Mode you can adjust the Forward Lean from 0 to 22 degrees in 2 degree increments for a more direct power transmission, just the way you like it.
Flex Lock provides additional edge hold for traversing steep slopes. It also makes icy conditions and difficult traverses easier to master. For more lateral flex and for descent, simply open the lever again and off you go.

    Baseplate
The Open Chassis baseplate allows the binding to move with the torsional flex of the board for an unmatched board feel. The X-Type 7075-T6 Heelcup is twice stronger than standard aluminium. The CNC machined, cored design maximises the stability to weight ratio. The high sidewall supports the boot for better power transmission and grip when traversing steep slopes. The Power Link, a lever mechanism located under the heel, makes it super easy to switch the binding from tour mode to ride mode and back. The ergonomic shape of the lever allows you to release and reinsert the touring brackets with just one movement. A small lever also activates the heel lock.

    Straps
The Air-Pod straps are 30 % lighter than conventional TPU straps and they eliminate pressure points.

    Splitboard technology
The Active Joining technology consists of four pre-installed contact points. This connects the splitboard binding to the board. These then ensure optimum power transmission to the edges. You lose less energy and are offered more stability and control. The Tour Step function ensures absolute comfort when frequently switching between touring and downhill. The binding remains on the boot while you change from one position to the other. This saves you a lot of time when repositioning.
