Product description
Ingenious freeride snowboard in the K2 family
The Excavator has been in the K2 family for two seasons now and it's hard to imagine life without it. It is designed to explore the entire mountain with hard turns and sharp edges. Backcountry slopes, steep runs and sidehits are its terrain. The Excavator's special topsheet prevents snow from accumulating on it, while the S1 Core ensures durability and best pop.
Riding style
All day in the powder, on steep backcountry slopes and icy descents. This freeride board gives you the tools for the ultimate days on the mountain.
Shape
The directional shape ensures uplift for trips out into the powder, offers stability and control and guarantees pop. The taper means the nose is wider than the tail and promotes smooth turn entry and exit, stability at speed and enhanced deep snow uplift. The larger volume in the front area allows you to make effortless turns in deep and soft snow and increases the float enormously.
Profile
The Excavator comes with a camber under the bindings and a rocker on the nose. You'll enjoy endless uplift and not lose much edge hold. The indicated dovetail sinks into the snow and thus offers even more buoyancy.
Flex
A harder flex guarantees full control, reactivity and agility in all conditions.
Construction
The S1 Core retains its pop for a long time and is designed to increase pressure on the edges. Carbon Power Forks are struts in the tail that provide extra pop and response. ICG™ 10 carbon biax fibreglass offers minimal torsional flex and a forgiving riding experience. The Carbon Power Forks™ ensure the best energy transfer and snap. Rounding out the high-quality construction, the Wax Infused 4001 Sintered Base is a fast base that will stay that way if you take proper care of it.

Snowboards are usually delivered ready-to-ride with a waxed base and sharpened edges. However, this so-called factory-tuning is not very durable and your new snowboard should be properly waxed after a few days and maintained on a regular basis.
