What makes Fjällräven special?
Wool has always been one of Fjällräven's basic materials, especially in the production of underwear and sweatshirts. Some time ago, the brand started to use the wool for various purposes: as filling in jackets or as the back part for a backpack. Inspired by this idea, the wool is now also used in the well-known Kanken backpack.
Fjällräven supports companies that respect and promote animal welfare and agriculture. At the same time, the sustainable company offers full traceability of the supply chain to ensure maximum transparency.
Say Hello To Kanken Re-Wool
The wool version of Fjällräven's classic backpack consists of the new G-1000 HeavyDuty Eco S, which is a durable and water-repellent material. The wool is made from leftovers that are first sorted by colour, then shredded and re-spun. This saves water and energy and the wool does not need to be re-dyed. As a result, the new Kanken Re-Wool is not only durable, but also sustainable through the use of recycled materials.
