Seriously Impressive Snowboard Technology
Burton manufacture snowboards for men and women , beginners and pros , groms and kids . Whether you're into freeriding, freestyle or hardcore rail action, Burton has a whole range of snowboards packed with seriously impressive technology, just waiting to be discovered by you. All Burton boards feature their famous Channel-System instead of the normal binding mounts of a standard snowboard. “ The Channel ” is, as you might expect, a small channel into which you screw your bindings, which, combined with the EST™ System , gives you virtually limitless stance options. Machine made, Burton snowboards keep their shape and pop from winter to winter, guaranteeing you an “ Infinite Ride ”. Burton's latest innovation is known as “ Nug Raduction ” which lets you ride boards about 8-10 cm shorter than you normally would without it affecting board performance. Not only does this reduce swing weight, but it makes tree runs a whole lot more fun too!
Board Shapes to Suit Any Terrain!
Depending on the kind of riding you're looking to do, you can choose between a number of different shapes:
- Traditional, positive camber boards are more precise through the turn and offer plenty of pop and excellent power transmission from the rider to the board.
- By contrast, rocker boards have a negative camber (the rocker) and are more playful and forgiving. The V-Rocker promises better powder float and less edge catching. If you're looking for a combination of rocker and camber, Blue Tomato recommends a board with an S-Rocker . Camber between the feet offers more control, whilst rocker from the nose to your front foot guarantees a floatier, surfier ride in the pow.
- Flat boards are a good alternative to rocker and camber boards. Flat between the bindings, these boards give you continuous edge control and therefore better balance. They promise a balanced ride and fewer edge catches.
- The Flying V&trade is a hybrid rocker/camber board profile. A continuous rocker is combined with underfoot camber zones for more pop and better edge control.
- Burton's line of splitboards is perfect for any fans of the outdoors and backcountry tours. Super lightweight and with a new split channel, these splitboards guarantee the perfect ride.
