Natas Kaupas Signature Shoe

As one of the first dedicated skate shoe manufacturers, Etnies were the first to release a signature series shoe, setting into motion cogs that continue to turn to this day. American legend Natas Kaupas 's basketball shoe inspired, high top skate shoe was so successful that it spurred the manufacturers on to follow it up with more pro models, a practice that continues to this day. Natas Kaupas is one of the definitive innovators of early street skating. Best known for creating the ‘Natas Spin', he was inducted into the skateboarding hall of fame in 2014.

The first skateboarder owned and operated skate Shoe Company

Set-up in 1986 by a group of skateboarders , one of which was Pierre Andre, a top-ranked skater in Europe at the time. The company became the first skateboarder owned and operated skate shoe and clothing company. As the original developers and designers of the initial signature pro model skate shoe, the "Natus Kaupas" they brought a whole new set of advances in shoe technology . This would change the footwear industry forever. The Subtle logo is present today and integrated into the skate scene so solidly that we cannot escape the Etnies branding nor do we want to with a history so illustrious.
