Globe Skateboarding since 1994

Globe International are a long established skate and surf brand from Australia. In 1994 Matt Hill, the current international CEO, joined forces with his brothers Stephen and Peter who ran Hardcore skateboards to form Globe. They started with skate shoes for surfers and skaters before quickly expanding into apparel and hardgoods for the broader market. These days, alongside their world renowned sneakers, streetwear and skateboards , the brand also produce some of the finest longboard hardware available.

Longboards and Mini Cruisers

Globe longboards and complete cruisers are in a class of their own. Working with DWINDLE Distribution , a component of Globe that distributes and manufacturers goods for Cliché, Enjoi, Almost, Darkstar and more, guarantees top quality goods at fair prices. You can get your Globe longboard as a complete longboards - pre-built with trucks, longboard wheels and grip tape - or put together your own setup. You can choose from short, reactive mini cruisers , classic 1-metre-plus longboards and plenty of other deck lengths in between. Mini cruisers are no longer than 60 centimetres. They use woods such as maple, bamboo, oak and lime for their boards, although mini cruisers like the Globe Bantam Retro are made of plastic . When it comes to shapes you have as much choice as a surfer choosing a surfboard. You can choose from pintails, fishtails, 80's style, cut outs and full shape boards, as well as a whole bunch more!

Three Steps to the Perfect Longboard Setup

When buying a longboard, keep the following points in mind:

  • The longboard you buy depends on your riding ability and the kind of riding you want to do. A soft flex is perfect for carving and cruising, for example, while a stiffer model is better suited to high speed downhill riding.
  • The width of your longboard depends on your shoe size. The same goes for board length and body weight.
  • The heavier you are, the harder your wheels should be. Soft wheels generally have more grip than hard ones, but have less control at high speeds. Wider wheels roll slower and are more stable than smaller wheels.
