The Jones Frontier is one of those boards that can't escape prizes, awards and accolades. But there is a good reason for that. The Frontier is an absolute all-rounder that can cope with any terrain. If you don't feel like having several boards but are looking for one with which you can have just as much fun in the park as in the pow and on the slopes, the Frontier is the snowboard for you.

Shape
The Directional Shape is the classic, most versatile snowboard shape. The pop is concentrated in the tail and provides ample float and control in all terrain and snow conditions. In deep snow, the Blunt Nose makes sure less snow get carried over the sides of your nose than it would with a regular shape. This means you get the benefits of a longer traditional nose without the extra weight. Traction Tech 2.0, the corrugated edge, ensures the best edge hold in all conditions.

Profile
The Directional Rocker consists of a camber between the binding and a larger rocker at the nose than at the tail. This keeps the board extremely manoeuvrable in the pow and gives it additional lift. The camber offers you good edge hold and fast power transmission. The slightly rockered tail increases power transmission and stability. The freeride-focused 3D Base Contour 1.0 comes with a balanced upturn of 2 mm in the nose and tail. The bending up of the base starts at the rocker.

The medium flex combines response and playfulness.

Construction
The FCS™ Classic Core is Jones' premium poplar solid wood core that scores with pop, flex and durability. The Biax fibreglass provides a forgiving, playful ride. Bio resin is plant-based and is used instead of petroleum-based epoxy, making production a little more environmentally friendly. The material of the sintered 8000 Base is made of UHMW-PE and carbon. It is fast, easy to repair and absorbs wax excellently. The ECO-Plastic Topsheet is made from castor seeds. This biomaterial is extremely light, resistant to scratches and breaks, and water and snow repellent. Jones boards are made with oversized recycled steel edges for added durability and improved sustainable production. The rubber for cushioning the edges and the ABS in the sidewalls is made from 100 % recycled materials. All Jones boards are 'ready to shred' and are factory waxed with natural Wend wax, as well as being slightly rounded at the tip and tail to be ready to hit the mountain straight out of the shop. In order to achieve a higher material utilisation, Jones swaps the colours of the base, thereby reducing waste generated in production.
