25 years risk´n´fun FREERIDE

Off-piste with the risk'n'fun FREERIDE training program. About freeriding as a mental sport, good “Friends on Powderdays” and the fact that good planning is not only half the battle, but can be your whole life.

For 25 years, strategies for good off-piste rides have been developed, snowboarders and skiers have been accompanied from terrain close to the piste to high alpine, glaciated terrain and, with the mantra “perceive - assess - decide”, also encouraged to reflect, question and pause. And YES - 25 years of risk'n'fun - that also stands for an incredible number of stories, (new) friendships, and intense days out in the wintry mountains shredding and powdering.

Starting next week, risk'n'fun FREERIDE, the training program of the Austrian Alpine Club Youth, will kick off with the multi-day LEVEL 1 training sessions in freeride terrain close to the slopes.

There are currently still places available for the DELUXE session in Kaunertal from 22 to 26 January - the next free LEVEL 1 dates will be available again in February.

“For me, risk'n'fun are days out with a good mix of learning and shredding together. The risk'n'fun experience is hard to describe and simply better to experience for yourself ;).”

risk'n'fun has shown me how important it is to be out and about WITH a group. It's not always about the wildest lines and the sickest drops, but about days out with those who are important to you. Of course, I also learned a lot about hard skills. How to use my safety equipment correctly, avalanche basics, and much more. But it was much more important for me to shed light on ALL the other aspects that play a role in the mountains. And no other training course comes close to risk'n'fun. risk'n'fun gives you a framework in which you can develop your own strategy for staying safe on the mountain. I enjoyed the interaction on the training days with mountain guides, trainers, and people from very different walks of life. Everyone just wanted to be outside and do something to become “safer” and that worked 100%. It feels like “being part of a big, very mindful, open hearted family”. ❤️

For me, risk'n'fun is a place where experiences and expertise are exchanged without pressure or fear. risk'n'fun is a community. That's why I'm always very happy to be there! Because I celebrate the philosophy and would like to pass it on! And yes - somehow there's almost no chance of not being integrated at risk'n'fun. Everything happens at eye level. Whether with the team of experts or the other participants.
