The WNDR Alpine Shepherd is your reliable companion for demanding big-mountain adventures. With specially developed, bio-based materials made from microalgae oil, this board offers enhanced damping, stability, and confidence in high alpine terrain. The Algal Core and Algal Wall ensure a smooth ride through any terrain you encounter. Thanks to the deep sidecut, taper shape, and directional camber profile, you’ll have precise edge hold on steep slopes while maintaining full control in deep snow.

Shape
The directional shape of this board, with its longer nose, provides floatation in powder, stability, and control at high speeds while also delivering pop. The tapered shape means a narrower tail than the nose, ensuring smooth turn initiation, speed stability, and more float in deep snow. The increased volume in the front allows for effortless turns in soft and deep snow, significantly boosting float.

Profile
The traditional camber profile features a single positive camber from nose to tail. This profile offers high stability, excellent edge control, and plenty of pop. A slight rocker in the nose helps lift the board out of deep snow, providing even more float.

Flex
The nose has a stiff flex, transitioning to a medium flex in the middle and then stiff again at the tail, ensuring stability and reactivity.

Construction
The Algal Core is made from vertically laminated aspen wood, reinforced with four algae-based polyurethane foam stringers running from tip to tail. This innovative combination reduces weight and provides excellent damping. The Algal Wall is a seamless semi-cap sidewall made from bio-based polyurethane. It’s designed to improve damping and stability, offering significantly better impact resistance than traditional ABS sidewalls. The Spiral Plate binding insert is made from recycled production waste and outperforms traditional aspen inserts in strength tests.
Every WNDR Alpine product, including the Shepherd, is made using microalgae oil – a renewable resource used throughout the production process.
