Product description
The luxury board in the Jones line
The Ultralight Project X is a ultralight all-mountain board made for carving, freestyle and freeriding. It has a tapered directional shape matched with a freestyle board feel that makes it incredibly playful and agile in pow and mixed conditions. The Project X is the lightest solid board in Jone's line, but it rides smooth and powerful like a luxury sports sedan.
Riding Style
This board feels at home on the piste, in the park, in the pipe and in powder. A true all-mountain charger.
Shape
The Tapered Directional Shape is the classic, most versatile snowboard shape. The pop is concentrated in the tail and provides ample float and control in all terrain and snow conditions. Taper means a narrower tail than the nose, providing more floatation. In deep snow, you'll enjoy less snow being carried back over the sides of the nose thanks to the Blunt Nose. This means you get the benefits of a longer traditional nose without the extra weight. Traction Tech 3.0, the corrugated edge, ensures the best grip in all snow conditions.
Profile
The Directional Rocker consists of a camber between the bindings and a larger rocker at the nose than at the tail. This keeps the board extremely manoeuvrable in pow and gives it additional buoyancy. The camber offers great edge hold and fast power transmission. The slightly rockered tail increases playfulness. The freeride-focused 3D Base Contour 3.0 has a balanced 7 mm upturn in the nose and tail. The upward bend commences at the rocker.
Flex
The medium flex combines response and playfulness.
Construction
The Ultra construction is the high-end construction from Jones. Only the best materials and technologies are used here. The new Fusion Core is Jones's lightest wood core yet. It is made from mostly paulownia with specifically positioned pockets of poplar for improved durability and response. The triax fibreglass provides a responsive ride. Bio resin is plant-based and is used instead of petroleum-based epoxy, making production a little more environmentally friendly. The material of the Ultra Base is fast, easy to repair and absorbs wax excellently. The rubber for cushioning the edges and the ABS in the sidewalls is made from 100 % recycled materials. All Jones boards are 'ready to shred' and are waxed at the factory with natural WEND wax, as well as slightly rounded at the tip and tail to be ready to go on the mountain right after the shop. For a higher material yield, Jones swaps the colours of the base, reducing waste generated in production.

Snowboards are usually delivered ready-to-ride with a waxed base and sharpened edges. However, this so-called factory-tuning is not very durable and your new snowboard should be properly waxed after a few days and maintained on a regular basis.
