Imagine you are standing on a mountain, the sun is shining and in front of you is an untouched downhill run with fluffy fresh snow. It could be perfect if there weren't your wet and cold gloves. That's exactly what happened to a group of riders in 1997 on a road trip at a ski resort in Washington State. They started dreaming about their perfect gloves. Back home in Pacific Northwest, they couldn't let go of the idea and the group began to develop a small range of gloves. They sold the first gloves from their trunks to the locals in the area.

POW Gloves uses cutting edge technology to create gloves that stay dry and warm even in tough conditions. The way the gloves are made is determined by their future use. For use in warmer conditions, gloves that are not heavy on the insulationd but have a waterproof insert are suitable. At very cold temperatures, the type and extent of insulation is critical. The degree of warmth needed is different for everyone, dependent on circulation and if they run warm or cold. GORE-TEX Technologies

Nikwax Glove Care
Nikwax treatments coat fabric and leather fibres with a network of elastic TX.10i water-repellent molecules. They bond to anything that is not water-repellent, but leave the spaces between fibres open and breathable. Nikwax treatments can flex and move with the fabric and leather fibres. All POW leather gloves include Nikwax waterproofing wax for leather.
Shell Material
Synthetics: Many of the POW-models use waterproof breathable fabric. Waterproof fabrics come in both hard and softshell versions and both are used for gloves and mittens.

Leather: Leather is the tried-and-true material of most of POW’s gloves and mittens. They use goatskin, which is more durable and is naturally water-resistant. When maintained properly with NikWax or other leather waterproofing treatments, these gloves can last many seasons.
Lining
The lining is the layer between the membrane and your skin, it is meant to increase comfort and warmth. POW’s lining materials have moisture-wicking and anti-pill qualities to ensure comfort year after year. Some of the models include an extra Poly Pro Liner that is in addition to the liner built into each model. These are also sold separately to provide an extra layer of warmth to any POW Glove you purchase.
