Product description
The secret weapon for tight treeruns
Burton employees love snowboarding - that's for sure. That's why they like to be out and about in the area surrounding their home in Vermont. Here, treeruns in dense forests are the order of the day, and that's exactly why the team developed the Burton Family Tree Hometown Hero: a manoeuvrable powder board with lots of float.
Riding style
The Burton Family Tree Hometown Hero is a freeride board for intermediate and expert-level riders. Short, wide and with a setback, it's ideal for treeruns and gives you a surfy feeling when powdering.
Shape
Freeride Directional Shape - Twin or Directional is the eternal question for creative rippers. This shape ends that debate with a setback camber and a waist that aligns with your stance to create a twin freestyle feel when riding a flat base. On the edge, it turns sharp and agile, with the float and skill expected of a directional deck. The taper of 12 mm is a wider nose (than the tail). This design offers smooth turn initiation and turn exit and more lift in deep snow.
Profile
Directional Camber has a camber under both feet for stability on deep turns and variable conditions, plus a rockered nose that offers more floatation.
Flex
The Twin Flex is perfectly symmetrical from tip to tail for versatility whether riding forward or switch.
Construction
The FSC™ certified Super Fly II 700G Core with lighter wood on special zones of the core offers pop, and stability as a reduced weight. Dualzone EGD provides consistent edge grip and durability. The Squeezebox improves pop and performance through a balance of thick, powerful core areas and thin, flexible areas. Carbon Highlights optimise each layer of the fibreglass matrix, adding a continuous carbon layer to reduce weight and fine-tune the torsional feel to achieve different ride characteristics. A 45° slanted fibre layer makes the board more aggressive.
The recycled, sintered WFO base is treated with a specially formulated wax that penetrates deep into the pores of this extra-absorbent, high-density sintered material, providing an ultra-rugged base all season and in all conditions.
The Channel™ gives you ultimate control over your stance in a design that is compatible with all popular bindings - not just Burton. Burton trusts the system and offers a three-year guarantee on it. With Infinite Ride technology, maximum pop and strength are generated by 'over-constructing' the board and then mechanically 'breaking it in'. With Infinite Ride, the board retains its flex, pop, and board feel from day one to the last, one season at a time.

Snowboards are usually delivered ready-to-ride with a waxed base and sharpened edges. However, this so-called factory-tuning is not very durable and your new snowboard should be properly waxed after a few days and maintained on a regular basis.
