Descripción del artículo
Deep powder and untracked slopes
The best backcountry experiences simply involve deep powder and a surfy ride. That's why Burton is now launching the Fish 3D Split. It works incredibly well, especially on the lowest days. The directional shape makes it manoeuvrable in powder snow and the Super Fly II 700 g core reduces the overall weight for an effortless ascent. Nipple deep? Fish 3D!
Riding style
A splitboard for experienced touring and freeride adventurers who are after the deepest powder. This board offers the necessary features for ascending untouched terrain. The shape and profile have been specially tuned for best downhill performance - good edge hold and plenty of float for deep snow.
Shape
The tapered directional shape is perfect for backcountry and freeriding. The nose is wider than the tail for controlled turns in any terrain. The offset of the bindings in the direction of the tail (setback) makes the nose a little longer for even more uplift in powder.
The taper of 30 mm is a wider nose (than the tail). This design offers a smooth turn initiation and exit and more float in deep snow.
Profile
The Directional Flat Top is a flat profile with a rocker nose for stability and effortless uplift, ideal for deep days and surfy terrain.
Flex
The directional flex of the board offers you more pop in the tail and a more robust nose, giving you the control and stability you need for the backcountry.
Construction
The Super Fly II 700 g splitboard core provides pop, stability as well as a reduced overall weight. 45° Carbon Highlights fibreglass construction optimises every layer of the fibreglass matrix and comes with a continuous carbon layer from nose to tail. This reduces the weight and increases the torsional rigidity. The WFO base is treated with a specially formulated wax that penetrates deep into the pores of the sintered material. This makes the base extremely robust.
