Lightweight and versatile freeride touring ski
Light, wide, stable: the Atomic Backland 98 W is one of the most versatile freeride touring skis in the Backland range and delivers first-class performance in a wide range of snow conditions and terrain.
Riding Style
It was specially developed for female touring fans and is lightweight for easy ascent. Its Ultra Light Woodcore and wide shape offer the perfect mix of lightweight touring efficiency and freeride performance.
Shape
This ski is equipped with a directional shape, the nose is a few millimeters wider than the tail. This makes it easier to turn on descents and gives you a little more float in soft snow.
Profile
The Powder Rocker profile combines a tip and tail rocker with a regular camber under the binding. This profile gives the Atomic Backland a lot of pop and control. The rocker in the nose and tail makes the ski a little more forgiving and gives it more float in deep snow.
Construction
The Carbon Backbone runs like a spine through the ski from front to back, giving it plenty of agility and reliable edge grip on the descent. The revolutionary HRZN Tech in the shovel ensures intuitive, easy handling, giving the ski more contact surface and better gliding in deep snow.
