Bringing two worlds together, we combined the snow team gathering with our first stop of this year’s Best Foot Forward tour which happened to be in Innsbruck, creating a perfect base to have fun both on and off the mountain. At the same time, our riders were able to get to know each other, learn from each other and experience each other’s “worlds” properly. After getting settled in our accommodation at Montagu Bed & Beers, dinner was the first opportunity to get to know all the new faces and fuel up properly for the first day of shredding. The Nordkette Skylinepark awaited us with the Sane Springbreak Park setup ready for all tricks our riders had in mind. From creative jibs to transfers to huge hits on the hip, the whole park was a perfect spring shred playground and also ideal for our skateboarders to try out some snowboard tricks. Levi Löffelberger was set on learning his first flip after already landing his first BS 360 within three runs. Under the skillful instructions from no other than Fridge Tischendorf, Levi tried a handful of times before riding out of his first backflip, to the cheers of all the other team riders!
But that was not the end of the day, as we also wanted to show the snow team riders what the skateboarders are usually doing and capable of. So we met up at Landhausplatz in the afternoon to skate the famous plaza in the heart of Innsbruck. Levi taught Matěj Švancer some flatground tricks, while Pasquale Zollino, Lenni Pfeiffer, Martin Schrotter and Julia Placek put down many many tricks down the stairs. The day was ended properly with Pizza and Pasta to get ready for the second day.
Since we knew it was going to be a long day, we didn’t rush things in the morning before going up Nordkette again to ride the park all day. Levi set out to learn a new trick again and landed his first frontflip after the lifts had already closed. But they reopened again just for us a couple of hours later, because the shapers had built the famous panoramic jump that seemingly lands in the city of Innsbruck. To session this properly, the lifts were turned on again for us and ran until after sunset. Our riders didn’t hold back and sent it until the light was gone!
After the sun had set, it was finally time for dinner, which we had directly on the mountain! A really unique experience to enjoy fondue with a view of the lit-up city in the valley. We also used the opportunity to give out some special awards to our team riders. Best bail went to Samy Kautner, who overshot a BS 720 over a pyramid all the way to the flat, but walked it off like the warrior he is. Best trick of the weekend was really tough to decide, but ended up being won by Julia Placek for a BS Bigspin down the stairs at Landhausplatz after a hard battle. Then we awarded the best snow team rider on a skateboard, namely Matěj Švancer who learned a handful of new flip tricks during our session at Landhausplatz. The award mirroring this, best skateboarder on snow, was the easiest one to decide. With three new tricks learned and a seemingly never-ending motivation to go ride more, Levi deserved this award.
After our riding days, the first Best Foot Forward tour stop of 2024 kicked off an amazing tour, with our snow riders watching with awe!
