Preparation is everything!
To get your snowboard & ski equipment ready for slushy spring conditions, with wet and soft snow, there are a few things you should take care about.
- Wax-Check: Use the right wax for warmer temperatures in spring. A wax with a lower melting temperature is the go-to to keep on shredding with high performance. Further information on perfect waxing can be found here.
- Consider a structured sanding: To ensure optimal grip in slushy conditions & that the soggy snow doesn´t stop you, upgrade your board/ski with a structured sanding. Our Service Your Ride Team gets it done for you.
- Binding-Setup: If you usually have a centered binding setting, you should move it back a bit to get a better floating effect in the soft spring snow. This also gives you better control over your board & you can more easily adapt to bumps. Our shop staff will be happy to help you.

Summer Break - done the right way!
As the days get warmer and longer, the time has come to swap your snowboard/skis for your skate- or surfboard. To make sure that your snow equipment is on fleek at the beginning of next winter, you should consider these tips for the right storage during summer break.
- Cleaning: Make sure your board/skis are clean and dry before storage. So dust and dirt won´t stick to it nor the edges start to rust.
- Wax-Job: Wax your board/skis well. Thus, the surface doesn´t dry out and remains free of dirt particles. Pro tip: Infrared wax from our professionals of our Service Your Ride Team. If you want to treat your equipment with some extra love, keep the current layer of wax on your board/skis and only remove it before your first shred next season.
- Location: Store your board & skis in a dry place that no rust can stick on it. Avoid sunny storage locations, otherwise the base will suffer and your favorite design could fade.
- Binding retreat: Loosen the bindings to avoid pressure on the inserts and to make sure they won't deform your beloved board.
- Season Opening: When you smell the first snow in the air, it's time to check on your snowboard/skis. Is there any minor damage, cracks in the base or something similar? If not, you can go straight shredding after your warm-up. If there is something, just bring your board to a Blue Tomato Shop nearby and our Service Your Ride team will freshen up your gear.
